Some Beginnings Of Our Magic Box Poems

We have been studying Kit Wright's poem the Magic Box. The way the words are put together makes us think about what is impossible and how wonderful it could all possibly be. We are beginning to write our own Magic Box poems. Here are some lines from some of our drafts. They might end up in our final published writing.

I will put in my magic box
The rainbow's seven colours  (Sera)
The impossible dream of floating in the sky    (Marianne)
The golden Web Ellis Cup in my two hands  (Gian)
The smiles of my family and class that are the memories of my life  (Lily)
Me and my nutty friend Aiden  (Lucas)
A dancing hormone to swim in your body   (Joshua)
The trust of my friends  (Nyle)
A shimmering sliver pencil and a golden notebook with diamonds and crystals all over it  (Reese)
The tears of a golden fish living in a fresh water lake   (Dana)
I will pour into the magic box
Cider made of melted gold  (Andrew)
I will put in my magic box
A swim with dolphins in the deepest blue sea   (Anita)
The fresh sour juice of a lime squeezed by my brother   (Rachel)
The sugary sweet smell of an ice cream shop
and the dream of a selfish giant   (Sylvia)
