Where I have Been by Marianne.

I've been to America
what a sight to see,
I've been to Philippines
lots of flies and bees.
I've also been to Wellington
it only took one hour,
I've also been to Te Papa
it's as high as a tower!
I've been to Lake Taupo
to see the rushing tide,
I've been to North harbour Stadium field
it's 100 metres wide!
I've been to MOTAT
trapped in a dark dome.
I've been to Hamilton gardens
there were hardly any gnomes.
I've been to Disneyland,
with lots and lots of rides,
I've been to Glenfield Leisure Centre
there were two hydro slides.
I've also been to Rotorua
it has that stinky smell
I've also been to Auckland Museum
it has memories to tell.
I've been to New York City
with lots of busy streets,
I've been to San Francisco
lots of people to meet!
But I belong somewhere else
for some reason I get this sense
that one place - I'll never be alone
Well...that place is called... home.

We have been enjoying "Wockagilla" Journal Of young People's Writing 1999 and this is Marianne's version of Telford Mill's poem Where I've Been.
